You will be aware that a recent consultation was undertaken looking at property licensing in Newcastle. The stakeholder consultation was undertaken between 7 March and 29 May 2024 on the Councils proposal to implement Selective Licensing schemes in;
- Columbia Grange
- Cowgate
- Denton Court
- Howlett Hall road, Howdene Road, Ravenburn Gardens Swinley Gardens
- Lemington
- West End
And an Additional Licensing scheme citywide.
Following consultation an analysis of the results was undertaken and a review of the licensing proposal took place. The boundary of the Selective Licensing area was amended in Lemington.
A proposal was taken to Newcastle City Council Cabinet on Monday 14 October 2024 to implement a new scheme for 5 years on the grounds of Anti-Social behaviour, Crime and deprivation.
Cabinet agreed to designate both Selective Licensing areas and additional licensing areas.
