We are looking to secure 12 month tenancies for eligible residents who need accommodation now and who want to access the private rental market.
Incentives include:
- A 12-month rent guarantee or Help2Rent insurance to cover unpaid rent
- Funding rent shortfalls between the rent and the LHA rent
- One month’s rent in advance and cash deposits to Landlords to cover first month’s rent in advance and the deposit on a property
- £250 sign in grant
- £150 pet payment to accept a tenant with well behaved pets
To be eligible for the scheme Landlords would need to enter into the Newcastle Accreditation Scheme to ensure the accommodation is safe and a decent standard.
What are we asking of you:
- Provide a well-managed property at an affordable rent
- Consider applications on a low income or welfare benefits
- Report any problems in the tenancy and work with us to resolve issues
To receive the incentives, the tenants must also be eligible for the scheme and their eligibility will be assessed during their own application process.
