Setting up tenancies and renting out your property in the correct way can be a daunting task. Legislation changes and regulations on what you need to provide and check can get confusing. To make the process as simple as possible, we have created a start of tenancy checklist for you to use.
We have split the list into 'Legal requirements' and 'Best practice'. Some parts may not be applicable, for example, needing a licence, if you're not in a licenced area or looking to let an HMO.
You can use this list as a way to record service of your start of tenancy necessities and we have included a place for signatures and date so that you can evidence these being received by the tenant.
