It is estimated that around two million adults experience domestic abuse each year affecting almost 6% of all adults, with women twice as likely to be victims as men. One in four women and one in seven men in England and Wales will experience domestic abuse in their lifetime and this can happen regardless of where they live.

No one likes to pry into peoples private lives but private landlord do sometimes become aware of things happening in their properties but don't know where to turn to or what to do when they suspect their tenants are experiencing domestic abuse at home.

DAHA is a partnership between three organisations who are leaders in innovation to address domestic abuse within housing; Standing Together Against Domestic Violence (STADV), Peabody and Gent.

DAHA have written this guide aimed specifically at private landlords and letting agents to help them recognise and understand domestic abuse and provide advice on what they can do if its something they suspect is happening in their properties.
